Transaction Terms

1. Scope

These Transaction Terms govern all financial transactions conducted through the StartRace platform between event organizers ("Organizers") and event participants ("Participants"). These terms supplement the general Terms of Service.

2. Parties

Each transaction is a direct agreement between the Organizer and the Participant. StartRace acts solely as a payment intermediary, facilitating the processing of payments on behalf of both parties. StartRace is not a party to the transaction between Organizer and Participant.

3. Payment Processing

All payments are processed through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. By making a payment, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.

• Payment is charged immediately at the time of registration.
• Prices are set by Organizers and displayed in the currency specified by the event.
• Currency conversion fees, if applicable, are the responsibility of the Participant.
• If your primary payment method is declined, the transaction will not be completed.

4. Platform Fee

StartRace charges a platform fee on paid registrations. This fee is deducted from the Organizer's payout and is clearly displayed during event setup.

The platform fee is non-refundable, even if the Organizer issues a refund to the Participant.

5. Refunds

Refund policies are determined by individual event Organizers and are displayed on the event page before registration.

• Refund requests should be directed to the event Organizer.
• Organizers may offer full or partial refunds at their discretion.
• StartRace may facilitate refunds in exceptional circumstances but is not obligated to do so.
• The StartRace platform fee is not refunded when an Organizer issues a refund.

6. Registration Transfers

Participants may request to transfer their registration to another person, subject to the Organizer's transfer policy.

• Transfers require Organizer approval.
• Transfer fees, if any, are set by the Organizer.
• The new participant must meet all event eligibility requirements.

7. Organizer Payouts

Organizer earnings from participant registrations are paid out via Stripe Connect to the Organizer's connected Stripe account, minus the StartRace platform fee.

Payout timing and frequency are subject to Stripe Connect terms. StartRace does not hold funds — they are processed directly through Stripe.

8. Chargebacks

If a Participant disputes a charge with their bank (chargeback), the disputed amount will be deducted from the Organizer's balance. The Organizer is responsible for resolving disputes with Participants and providing evidence to contest unjustified chargebacks.

9. Event Cancellation

If an Organizer cancels an event, the Organizer is responsible for issuing refunds to all affected Participants. StartRace may assist with mass refund processing but bears no financial responsibility for cancelled events.

10. No Guarantees

StartRace does not guarantee the quality, safety, or occurrence of any event listed on the platform. Organizers are solely responsible for delivering the event as described. Participation is at the Participant's own risk.

11. Disputes

For transaction-related disputes, Participants should first contact the event Organizer directly. If the dispute cannot be resolved, StartRace support is available as a mediator but assumes no obligation to resolve disputes between Organizers and Participants.
